San Bernard River Mouth Update:
The Corps of Engineers Galveston District currently is involved
in collecting core borings within the San Bernard River to determine sediment
type (sand, clay, silt), percentage of sediment types, and sediment stability.
The Corps is also conducting a marine survey in the river channel and sand spit
to determine if archeological sites are present in the project area.
At this time, we anticipate that both contractors will complete the field work
by the end of March. The next step will be analysis of the data collected.
