F.O.R. San Bernard Members Of The Month

Russell and Wana York

We thank you for honoring us as F.O.R. Members of the Month!
Russell and I have 3 sons, 2 daughters-in-law and 2 grandsons- with a surprise on the way! Russell is the owner of South Coast Construction Services Inc. in Houston while I own Wana's Designs, a decorating business, in League City. We bought our house last May in the Lazy Oak Ranch subdivision, which has become Russell’s "Main Domain", while I maintain the house in League City and spend as much time as I can at the river. He’s truly hoping to move down there permanently by the 1st of next year. We have totally engaged in the fun of the river with all the toys necessary, fishing boat for us, jet ski’s and ski boat for the kids. I think that the river has been a good investment for us in the fact that it has given us something to look forward to- just being there- and it has become Russell’s serenity. Our children and friends love to come and play on the river and just hang out which is what we were trying to achieve, a gathering place to do as much or as little as you want. We have an open door policy- just give a call first or we might be out on the boat. Other than boating we like to BBQ, entertain and play golf, but haven’t found the time, we’re too busy playing on the river.

We have made some great friends in the short time that we have been on the river. Bob and Susan Bailey who are our neighbors have included and introduced us to so many of the F.O.R.functions and members and told us much of the history of the river and the F.O.R.organization. They have made us feel welcome and a part of the community. We try and take part in all the F.O.R.activities and support it as much as we can. I have served on the Board of Directors at South Shore Harbor Country Club, The South Shore Women’s Club Board and the Homeowners Association and Russell was head of the Architectural Committee for South Shore Harbor and I speak for both us in that we are most impressed with the F.O.R.organization and the dedication you all have in reaching the goals that have been set. The hard work that you all put in and the hours it takes to accomplish the smallest of tasks. We are proud to be apart of such a great group of people who have a common goal in preserving such a wonderful place for all to enjoy.
