F.O.R. SAN BERNARD'S 4TH OF JULY BOAT PARADE – MAKES A HUGE BANG!

On Saturday, July 5th, F.O.R. presented the third annual San Bernard River 4th of July Parade and it was a phenomenal success. More than a dozen boats, bedecked in red, white, and blue, in honor of America’s birthday, lined up under the Churchill Bridge and proudly motored down the people-lined banks of the San Bernard to 2J’s Café and Marina where everyone enjoyed a feast of hot dogs with all the trimmings.

The winners of the boat decorations were: Best Spirit: Mickey and Brenda Goolsby and Crew; Best Sound: Bob and Marie Breakiron; Most Patriotic: Larry and Erma Vacek and Crew; Most Unusual: Sue Primeau and Johnny Harper; Best Theme: Darrell and Gloria Powell, David and Joyce Hooker; and Best Overall: John and Jane Wallace.

Best "Cat in the Hat" prize went to David Pope

The sponsors who made the parade possible are:
Platinum: Bartlett Motor Company, High 5 Bar and Grill, Local Industrial Contractors, Offshore Oil Services, Docks and Decks, Brazos Fasteners, Hardwicke Health Management, LLC., Moses Automotive, Xpressions T-Shirts and More, Dido’s Seafood Restaurant, A-Kim’s County Bail Bonds
Gold: Lone Star Bulkhead
Bronze: Sand Dollar Autoplex- Galveston, Internal Control Systems of Houston, Inc., Baron’s Marine
Contributors: Erma and Lary Vacek’s Kitchen, Rick and Jana Gardner, Quality Copiers, Vanessa’s Cleaning Service, Gloria and Darrell Powell, Constable Fred Kanter, and Jane and John Wallace.

Because of these sponsors’ generous donations, the people who gathered on the San Bernard River at the public boat ramps, in yards, and on docks with their families, had a joyful, fun-filled parade to add to their 4th of July celebrations. Thank you, one and all, for making this such a successful parade.
