F.O.R.
COMMUNITY
CENTER
GETS BOOST FROM LOCAL
CONTRACTORS
By Artie Burnett
As work continues on the F.O.R.
Community Center’s new storage
facility, two local Contractors
recently stepped up to provide
some much appreciated help. The
contractors, both of whom are
residents of the beautiful
San
Bernard
River,
provided both labor and
materials to complete very
important stages of the
building.
Don Schuster of Affordable Home
Repair brought his crew in and
installed the siding for the
building and donated an exterior
door. Two weeks later, Ronnie
Marches, a Houston based commercial
roofing contractor donated the
entire metal roof and brought in his
crew to install it. These two
projects required substantial work
in the hottest part of the year, and
both crews worked tirelessly to
complete the projects.
Friends Of the River San Bernard
extend thanks and sincere
appreciation to Don and Ronnie and
their workers for a job very well
done. Both of these projects were
significant to the completion of the
storage building and to our
beautiful Community Center and could
not have been done without the
assistance of these gentlemen who
care so much and gave so willingly
of their time and materials. Again,
thanks to both of you for your
wonderful efforts.
Another F.O.R.Community Center
project draws near completion -
thanks to the many wonderful
volunteers who devoted their
time, talent and energy to make
it happen. The new storage
building lacks only a few more
touches to be 'open for
business'. A much needed asset
to F.O.R., the storage building
will house many of the items
currently stored in the pantry
inside the main building and
many items farmed out to
individuals homes for safe
keeping. It will also provide
sheltered protection for the
lawn equipment. This is only
made possible by the dedicated
volunteers, generous donations -
and a lot of hard work.
