BOAT PARADE CANCELED;
OTHER EVENTS WILL GO ON
High water and debris in the San Bernard
River has prompted the cancellation to
today’s planned boat parade. Friends of the
River San Bernard still plans a celebration,
however, and the River’s End Volunteer Fire
Department fireworks today will take place
as scheduled.
Friends of the River will host a hot dog
dinner and camaraderie at 7 p.m. today at
2J’s Café and Marina on FM 2918, about 6
miles from FM 2611. Tents will be set up and
there will be door prizes.
At about 9 p.m., a short drive from the
marina to the boat ramp at the end of FM
2918 will be the place to watch the River’s
End Volunteer Fire Department fireworks
display over the Intracoastal Canal.
