Christmas comes alive on
river

The 21st annual San
Bernard River Christmas Boat Parade and Home
Decorating Contest presented by Friends Of
the River recently was a huge success.
Thirty-four musically lighted and
Christmas-themed boats cruised down the San
Bernard River and entertained hundreds of
fans. The cheering crowds enjoyed boats
floating down the river decorated as a
gingerbread house, Santa’s sleigh, a
floating cross, hundreds of computerized
lights in sync with Christmas carols,
Christmas trees, reindeer and candy canes
galore.
Homeowners decorated their homes for the
enjoyment of boat parade participants. Lawns
were filled with twinkling trees, lighted
reindeer feeding on lawns, Santas and
snowmen. Twenty-four of these beautiful
homes were entered in the house decorating
contest.
