BRAZORIA — It’s a
hot time on the San Bernard River,
so that means it’s time to show
appreciation for all the troops with
Friends of the River’s third annual
San Bernard River Fourth of July
Boat Parade.
The parade will be July 5 and begin
at the Churchill Bridge on FM 2611
and travel downriver to 2J’s Café
and Marina for an awards dinner. All
boat entries and crews are invited
to the dinner, where the parade
winners will be announced and door
prizes given away.
The boats will be judged in three
categories: 17-foot and smaller,
17-foot-1 to 24-foot, and 24-foot-1
and larger. First-, second- and
third-place plaques will be awarded
in each category. The parade will
begin at 5 p.m.
Anyone interested in entering a boat
should attend a captains’ meeting at
2J’s Restaurant at 7 p.m. July 3.
For information, call the Taylors at
(979) 964-4402.
Those who want to sit back and enjoy
the parade with friends and family
are invited to bring lawnchairs to
one of the following viewing areas:
High Five Bar and Grill, Las Playas
boat ramp, 2J’s Café and Marina or
the Churchill boat ramp at FM 2611.
“Come salute our country and thank
our soldiers and join the fun,” a
Friends of the River press release
states.

available at www.sanbernardriver.com.
