Parade set for
Saturday

Last year’s
Friends Of the River San Bernard
July 4th boat parade was rained out.
A huge turnout is expected for the
this year’s event.
The parade will begin Saturday at
the Churchill bridge on FM 2611 and
end upriver at 2J’s Café and Marina.
Participants are invited a hot dog
dinner where parade winners will be
announced and door prizes given
away.
The parade is free and open to
everyone. Any kind or size of boat
or personal watercraft can be
decorated and entered in the parade.
Plaques will be awarded for best
spirit, best sound, most patriotic,
most unusual, best theme and best
overall. The parade begins at 5
p.m., with boats in the water and
ready to line up at 4:30 p.m.

should attend a captains meeting at
7 p.m. today at 2J’s Café and
Marina, 5100 CR 469, or call (979)

Community members wishing to watch
the parade may do so at High Five
Bar & Grill, Las Playas boat ramp,
2J’s Café and Marina, or the
Churchill boat ramp on FM 2611.
